CNMC President Zhang Jinjun attends China-Indonesia Nonferrous Metals Forum on Sustainable Development and inspects NFC's operations in Indonesia

Zhang Jinjun, President of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), recently attended and delivered a speech at the China-Indonesia Nonferrous Metals Forum on Sustainable Development upon invitation in Jakarta, Indonesia, and inspected the Indonesian operations of CNMC's subsidiary, China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NFC).  

Held from May 12 to 13, the forum also served as the China Nonferrous Metals International Cooperation Alliance Annual Conference and the inaugural China-Indonesia Forum on Sustainable Development of Nickel and Cobalt Industry Chain.

Liu Yu, Vice President of CNMC and Chairman of NFC, also attended the event and accompanied Zhang on the inspection tour.

In his speech, Zhang said that as a pioneer and outstanding practitioner of international operations, CNMC has established deep roots in Indonesia's mining sector for many years, achieving remarkable results and enjoying mutually beneficial and shared development with Indonesia.

Looking into the future, CNMC will remain true to its original aspiration, continue to increase strategic investment in Indonesia's nonferrous metals mining market, strengthen friendly cooperation with relevant parties, and fully leverage its strengths in management, technology, and talent, Zhang said.

Adhering to its development philosophy featuring environmentally friendly and sustainable development, CNMC will spare no effort to drive the nonferrous metals industry in China and Indonesia toward a new journey of high-quality development, contributing its strength to deepening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and the building of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, according to Zhang.

Liu was elected as the second rotating chairman of the second term of the China Nonferrous Metals International Cooperation Alliance.

He said that CNMC will go all out to play an effective role as a bridge for international cooperation, continuously improve the communication and coordination mechanisms for the industry's ambition of "going global", and make sustained efforts to build a platform for sharing stories of the overseas footprints of China's nonferrous metals industry. 

Through these efforts, CNMC aims to turn the Alliance into a more cohesive, influential, and professional platform for international cooperation, Liu noted.

A delegation led by Zhang Jinjun, President of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), inspects the Indonesian operations of CNMC's subsidiary, China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NFC).

In an effort to further promote the development of CNMC's regional business in Indonesia, a delegation led by Zhang made an inspection tour of NFC's operations in Indonesia from May 12 to 14.

The delegation mainly listened to reports on the progress of the projects operated by PT Dairi Prima Mineral (PT DPM), a holding subsidiary of NFC, as well as NFC's efforts and achievements in tapping into the Indonesian market.

Members of the delegation also visited key project sites including the copper mining plant, copper smelter plant, and copper concentrator expansion project for PT Amman Mineral Industri (AMIN).

During the inspection, Zhang praised NFC for its achievements in deeply cultivating the Indonesian market.

He emphasized the importance of pursuing high-quality cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and encouraged NFC to stay committed to its strategy of "undertaking major projects for key owners in big markets," continuously sharpen its international operational capabilities, and strengthen risk prevention to achieve win-win cooperation.

Relevant personnel from CNMC's headquarters and CNMC-funded enterprises also participated in the event and the inspection.
